Specimen Required:
Collect: Swab taken from the posterior fornix of the vagina or the ectocervical region of the external cervical os.
Transport: Swab of the cervical mucous in Adeza Biomedical Specimen Collection Kit at 2-8°C.
Remarks: Specimens that are not tested within eight hours of collection must be stored, refrigerated, and assayed within three days of collection. Avoid extreme temperatures. Only one freeze/thaw cycle acceptable. Indicate source on test request form. Required Information: Specimen must be labeled with gestational age and list patient condition as either "symptomatic" or "asymptomatic."
Unacceptable Conditions: Samples collected in or by any sample device other than the Adeza Biomedical Specimen Collection Kit.
Stability: Ambient: 8 hours; Refrigerated: 3 days; Frozen: 2 weeks
