Collect: One 5 mL lt. blue (3.2% Sodium citrate)

Transport: Whole blood, if transported to the lab within 4 hours of collection

Unacceptable Conditions: Serum

Stability: Ambient: Whole blood - 4 hours; Refrigerated: Plasma -  8 hours;
Frozen: Plasma - 1 month

Notes: If unable to transport immediately, separate plasma from cells and freeze.
