Specimen Required:

Collect: One 7 mL plain red. Aseptically remove serum to a sterile tube and freeze.
Transport: 3 mL serum, frozen. (Min: 1 mL)
Remarks: Required information includes time and date of collection, time of last dose, and list of all antibiotics that the patient is receiving or has received in the past 48 hours.
Unacceptable Conditions: Delayed storage and handling of unfrozen specimens, inadequate information or plasma.
Stability: Ambient: 2 hours; Refrigerated: 24 hours; Frozen: 1 week
