Methodology: 3rd generation RAST testing or ImmunoCAP or comiluminescent Immunoassay or chemiluminescent depending upon Allergy 
Performed: 24 hrs for E.TN allergens, 1-2 days on all others

Specimen Requirements:
Collect: 6mL or One red or gold serum separation tube; 0.3mL serum for one allergen; Additional 0.1mL for each additional allergen
Transport: Refrigerate specimen until pick up. Ship with cold pack if sending overnight.
Unacceptable Conditions: Hemolyzed, icteric or lipemic sample; Stored or shipped at incorrect temperature; Incorrect anticoagulant; Insufficient specimen volume
Stability: Serum stable at 2-8°C for 2 weeks

Reference Interval: >0.2kUL allergen detected / not detected

Notes:
Arriving at at accurate diagnosis is critical to managing allergies and their progressive symptoms. By confirming diagnosis with 3gAllergy, appropriate treatment regimens can be instituted sooner and help prevent the development of more severe allergic diseases.
