Turnaround Time:

Methodology:
3rd generation RAST testing or ImmunoCAP or comiluminescent Immunoassay or chemiluminescent depending upon Allergy

Specimen Requirements:

• 6mL or One red or gold serum separation tube
• 0.3mL serum for one allergen; Additional 0.1ml for each additional allergen

Causes for Rejection:

• Hemolyzed, icteric or lipemic sample
• Stored or shipped at incorrect temperature
• Incorrect anticoagulant
• Insufficient specimen volume

Specimen Stability:
Serum stable at 2-8°C for 2 weeks

Storage and Handling:
Refrigerate specimen until pick up. Ship with cold pack if sending overnight.

>0.2kUL allergen detected / not detected
