Symphony's PDI allows multi-center set up per user or office location. Physicians can access reports securely from anywhere at anytime with an internet capable computer.

For more information about Symphony, contact client services at 865.273.1111 or 866.726.1833 or view the Symphony flyer [PDF 292K] .

Please use the following requisition form for all written test requests.
TEST REQUISTION FORM ( .pdf 188 KB )

STAT Service
For critical situations requiring immediate attention, Ascendant Medical Laboratory offers STAT services for most routine laboratory procedures. STAT results are available within two hours of the specimen receipt in the laboratory.

Upon receipt of a telephone call requesting STAT service, a courier is dispatched to pick up the specimen. Once in the laboratory, the specimen receives priority handling, and results are communicated to the referring physician immediately after test completion.

Test Cancellations
Tests many be cancelled without charge while specimens are in transit. Cancellations requested during or after the procedure assay will be considered on a per incident basis.

Test Additions
Client services can arrange additional testing on a specimen if sufficient specimen volume remains after the initial assay is completed.

Repeat Testing
Repeat determinations are performed at no additional charge if, in the opinion of the referring physician, a distinct variance exits between the clinical picture and the laboratory result. We routinely store most of the serum specimens for 5 days. Other specimens are kept for shorter time periods according to their stability.

Reflex Testing
To expedite follow-up testing on a positive or reactive infectious disease screening tests, we automatically reflex test for the following samples, unless you indicate otherwise:
• ANA
• CBC with Differential
• Micro cultures
• HIV-1/HIV-2 Virus Antibody
• Hepatitis B Surface Antigen
• Hepatitis C Antibody
• Hepatitis A Antibody Total
• Rapid Plasma Reagin
• Human T-Lymphocyte Virus Type I/II Antibody
• Urinalysis

If the initial screening test does not indicate follow-up testing (negative or non-reactive), the only charge assessed is for the screening tests. The appropriate confirmatory and/or supplemental test(s) are performed on patient samples positive or reactive upon initial screening. Additional charges are assessed for any confirmatory and/or supplemental test performed. Please indicate on the test requisition form if reflexive testing for microbiology is not required.
